Christian Aid Week 2021

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 10 - 16 MAY 2021

For 75 years Christian Aid has worked to support the most vulnerable people across the world who are struggling with hunger, poverty and injustice.  Here, in Cricklade and Latton we have been involved in supporting this work throughout that time and the community has responded generously.  This year due to the Coronavirus restrictions, we cannot undertake the usual house to house collection with our volunteer collectors.  But the needs of the most vulnerable remain - indeed they have increased as the difficulties of combating the pandemic have become more urgent.

In addition to their normal work, Christian Aid is heavily involved in funding vulnerable communities around the world to provide soap, water, food and vital health information as the Coronavirus continues to destroy lives and livelihoods. These communities face an uncertain wait for a vaccine as questions remain around the cost, timing and extent of a global vaccination roll-out.  Christian Aid has so far directly helped over half a million people in 27 countries  including  distributing food packages  to  nearly 60,000 people struggling to feed their families after losing work during lockdown and the economic downturn.  They need help to continue this work.

Please can you help us? - a gift envelope has been enclosed with the May Chronicle, please could you make a donation and post your envelope through the letterbox of one of the following collection points.  There should be a collection point within a few minutes' walk of your home.
