Katy Bell

I was drawn to St Sampson’s when I moved to Cricklade, and over time I became more involved with the Church, was confirmed, elected to the PCC and became its Secretary. At the end of the 1990’s, I was heavily involved in the Four Spires Appeal fundraising for the modernisation of the South Aisle, and spiritually my faith grew through attending Alpha courses. These ‘opened my eyes’ and led me to attend a joint Methodist/Anglican study course called Equipping God’s People. I put myself forward for selection to become a Lay Minister.

Licensed in Bristol Cathedral in 2004, I am now involved in co-ordinating and sometimes leading a monthly contemporary worship, regularly planning and leading monthly services of Morning Worship, and sometimes assisting and preaching at mid-week and Sunday Communion services. I have helped run Alpha courses, currently lead a Study Group in my home, and attend a fortnightly home group. I am also a member of St Sampson’s Leadership Team. My desire is to create opportunities for others to hear and understand the Good News and to develop their faith.

I live in Cricklade High Street with my husband David. We enjoy travelling, wine tasting and spending time together and with friends and family. We are blessed to have a grown-up daughter who lives locally and also my somewhat frail Mum, to whom I devote time.
